Miles to feet converter

A route listed in miles may need a metric distance for a map, training log or reimbursement form. This converter uses the international land mile. Nautical miles describe a different distance and need their own conversion rather than a change in rounding.

One mile is exactly 5,280 feet. The international mile is exactly 1,609.344 m, which is 5,280 feet.

Multiply the number of miles by 5,280. For example, 1 mi × 5,280 = 5,280 ft. To go the other way, divide by 5,280.

Multiply by 5300. That is 0.4% high of the exact factor 5,280, so 1 mi comes out as 5,300 ft instead of 5,280.

Accuracy depends on your inputs and the method's assumptions.
