Yards to meters converter

Yards appear in fabric orders, field markings and short outdoor distances. A quoted number of yards describes length unless the source explicitly says square or cubic yards. Confirm that the measured quantity and the unit on the purchase order describe the same thing.

One yard is exactly 0.9144 meters. The international yard is defined as exactly 0.9144 m, which is 3 feet.

Multiply the number of yards by 0.9144. For example, 100 yd × 0.9144 = 91.44 m. To go the other way, divide by 0.9144.

Multiply by 0.9. That is 1.6% low of the exact factor 0.9144, so 100 yd comes out as 90 m instead of 91.44.

Accuracy depends on your inputs and the method's assumptions.
